HVH Leads Construction Project Management Seminar
Our firm recently led six half-day seminars on Construction Project Management for nearly 120 employees of our long-time client, Collins Electrical Company, Inc.
The seminar, developed by founder and partner George F. Vogt, and senior construction analyst Gregg. T. Gottgetreu, covered topics like deciphering construction contract language, how to give notice of delays & impacts encountered during the course of a construction project, scheduling and schedule analysis, construction claims, proposals and change orders, and project documentation.
Mr. Vogt has been a strong advocate for contractors throughout his legal career and has not only represented clients in alternative dispute resolution (ADR) and litigation but has also advised clients in how to avoid these types of issues in the future and protect themselves when problems do arise. He has received the Martindale-Hubbell® Av Preeminent® rating and has long been on the Legal Advisory Committee for the Association of General Contractors of California, and a member of the Construction Law Section of the Sacramento County Bar Association.
Mr. Gottgetreu is a recognized leader in the industry, and has been working with Herrig, Vogt & Hensley since its founding in 1994 (and with Mr. Vogt & Collins Electrical even before that).
After earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1971, Mr. Gottgetreu served as an international engineering and construction contractor at the Chicago Bridge & Iron Company for 15 years. He was specifically involved in the municipal, energy, petroleum, and petrochemical industries. His work experience also includes nine years of service as a contracting engineer and project manager, two years as a project planner, two years as a general foreman, and as an inspector, a welder, a machinist, a draftsman and a design engineer. His background and expertise were crucial in leading the hands-on seminar.

Additionally, 70 field operations personnel completed the Foreman Development Series (FDS) which is 48 hours of specific training, totaling 3,360 hours.
